If you’re interested in Calisthenics and don’t know where to begin, then our ‘Introduction to Calisthenics’ will be the perfect start for you.
We will help you work towards a specific outcome, improving you session by session to one day acheive something that you thought was impossible.
WHAT IS CALISTHENICS
Calisthenics is a discipline in which you train your whole body using only bodyweight exercises. Think of movements such as pull ups, push ups, dips and squats. Train wherever you like, whenever you like, with no or limited equipment.
The beauty of Calisthenics is that you develop natural body strength using natural movements.
WHEN & WHERE
The workshop will take place across 4-weeks in October:
Tuesday 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th at Sudden Movements Gym
WHAT TO EXPECT
We will teach you how to become more body aware, whilst providing you with set tools to increase your strength and maximise your skill set. You will be moving in various ways using only your bodyweight and simple equipment such as parallettes, gymnastic rings and pull up bars.
Week 1: BODYWEIGHT
Learn the basics of how to perform specific bodyweight exercises safely and correctly for maximum results.
Week 2: PARALLETTES
Learn how to build full body strength using the parallettes. We will look at any limitations in movement/strength and teach you how to overcome them.
Week 3: PULLING SYSTEMS
Fundamentals in muscle activation techniques for pull ups. You will learn a series of pull-up variations and recognise the importance of grip systems, hanging and how to improve your pulling ability.
Week 4: GYMNASTIC RINGS
Understand how to safely set up and use your gymnastic rings, specific for each movement. Learn fundamental strength drills that will later take you to the more advanced exercises.
